“We have a surprise for you guys, not only is it Eva’s baptism today, but it is also our wedding”
To be honest, I knew what was going to happen before they announced it. That morning as they were setting up for the baptism, Mar told me she had a confession, that it was also their wedding. After my initial shock and various “OH MY GOD”s I knew it was going to be such a wonderful day.
And it was.
oh so wonderful
Mar and Englebert had rented the most amazing house in Point Reyes, CA. Seriously, the MOST AMAZING HOUSE. I coud have spent a month in it and still not explored the whole area. It had bridges, balconies, a LIGHTHOUSE room. Imagine the most elegant and amazing tree house you have ever seen and that is this house.
They invited their closest families and friends for the occasion. The baptism of my beautiful cousin, Eva. Who is such a light in my life. Her smile and laughter cures everything.
It was a weekend of good laughter, good music, memories, amazing food and family. My family is the best. Seriously. It is crazy how much I love them. Even without the incredible baptism and wedding ceremony, the weekend would have been perfect. Oh So Perfect. I could hang out with my Momma and Grandmother everyday for the rest of my life.
Love is not something we wind up; something we set, or control. Love is like art. A force that comes into our life without any rules, expectations, or limitations. And, every time I hear that line, I am reminded that love, like art, must always be free.
I love my family. I want weekends like this every month.
Congrats Mar and Engelbert and my precious little Eva!
I am so excited to see your family partake on such amazing new adventures.
